Muriwai Beach

sunny day muriwai-1050527

Our local beach is called Muriwai .. a surfer’s spot and only about 35 minutes from Auckland. So it ticks a few boxes for the hubby. It is also our border collie, Dan’s favourite spot too … he looks forward to those morning walks.

  1. I haven’t been to that particular beach on our trip but I have fond memories of very beautiful beaches in NZ. Your pics are pretty…wish I were there πŸ˜‰

  2. Such lovely photos Julie! I’ve never taken my Border Collie, Rilla, to the beach, although I am sure she would love it. We live just over and hour away from the beach, which is a long car ride for her, and a lot of the nicer beaches are dog free zones πŸ™‚

Hope you have a lovely week!

    • Hey Sarah .. I just love your pooches. Was showing my hubby pics of Spud this am. Dan loves the beach but is so antisocial. I’m sure he believes he is a human. So nice to hear from you … hope you have a lovely week too! πŸ™‚

  3. Great pics of a great place!! I used to make special trips from Takanini to watch my horses being trained on that beach …….. they joined the beach via tracks through the Woodhill Forest. The horses loved it – so much better for their minds than being trained round and round a track.!! Look at Dan – doesn’t he just love it!!

    • Hey Brenda … I didn’t know that you used to have horses.I just love my walks on the beach when they are training. Magic watching them gallop along the sand. So much better than track training. Yep that pooch adores the beach!

  4. Wonderful photos. I have always wanted to surf (of course, I am a little long in the tooth now, not to mention landlocked!) to compare it to swimming the rivers. Something about moving water that gets me. Your garden looks lovely. Still ice and snow in my neck of the woods, but I have started a few seeds for transplanting at the end of May. I have confidence spring will arrive as scheduled. Take care.
